26 January book launch Dutch Dikes in Pakhuis de Zwijger, Amsterdam

The city of Amsterdam has many dikes. We live in houses on the embankment Oostzanerdijk, cycle on the winding Durgerdammerdijk and eat at Nam Kee on the Zeedijk.

Where are the dikes located in the city of Amsterdam? Do our dikes offer sufficient protection? How are they integrated in the city? What opportunities do the dikes offer for for example recreation, nature and power generation?

With, amongst others:
• Authors Erick John Plaster and Cees van der Veeken (LOLA Landscape Architects)
• Eric Luiten (Government Advisor on Landscape and Water)
• Henk Ovink (Hurricane Sandy Rebuilding Task Force)
• Ed Buijs (Amsterdam city biologist)
• Moderator: Natasja van den Berg

The book will be presented to:
• Cees van 't Veen (director RCE)
• Maarten Smits (director Deltares)
• Jan Hendrik Dronkers (RWS director, subject to change)
• Janny Rodermond (Creative Industries Fund NL)
