The Dutch edition Dijken van Nederland was awarded Best Dutch Book Design 2014 and received an honourable mention of the Gouden Tulp 2015. The English edition Dutch Dikes was awarded Wood Pencil by the D & AD Awards 2015.

> About the authors

Eric-Jan Pleijster and Cees van der Veeken both graduated cum laude and founded LOLA Landscape Architects in 2006. Eric-Jan Pleijster wrote the text for Dutch Dikes and coordinated the book's research and production. Cees van der Veeken has been involved with dikes since LOLA's inception. Together with LOLA, he created the Dijkenatlas van eiland IJsselmonde (Dike atlas of IJsselmonde island) in 2010.
LOLA Landscape Architects focuses on progressive landschape architecture. LOLA has won several design awards, including the Delta Water Award 2009, the Rotterdam Maaskant Prize for Young Architects and the TOPOS Landscape Award in 2014. Their book Lost Landscapes (nai010 publishers) won the DAM Architectural Book Award 2014.
