Dutch designer Aldo Bakker (b. 1971) is famous for the creation of experimental shapes that blur the boundaries between art and design. Familiar objects obtain surprising new forms in the hands of thisextraordinary designer. He established his international reputation in 2010 with the Copper Collection, a series of everyday products made from the unusual material copper. Bakker’s workcan be found in the collections of the Victoria & Albert Museum in London, the Vitra Museum in Weil am Rhein, the Cooper Hewitt Smithsonian Design Museum in New York, the Stedelijk Museum in Amsterdam and the Museum Boijmans Van Beuningen in Rotterdam.

In this richly illustrated book, art criticHans den Hartog Jager refl ects on Bakker’s work, with great attention to form, material and (art historical) context. This new angle on Bakker’s design and the underlying ideas and inspirations will delight a wide audience.
