Every year, The Best Dutch Book Designs award celebrates the finest achievements of the graphic arts sector in the Netherlands: about thirty books created with heart and soul, distinguished by their exceptional design, lithography, printing and binding.
In 2026, the award will celebrate its centenary. This richly illustrated and beautifully designed publication marks this special anniversary with a selection of the 100 most inspiring books from the past 100 years, chosen by contemporary creators and producers. In addition, five essays describe developments in the field: from the influence of new production techniques to the changing role of graphic designers, from the dynamics within design education to the inclusivity of the field, from the activism of artisanal printers to the future of the printed book.
