about nai010

nai010 publishers specializes in developing, publishing and distributing books in the fields of architecture, urbanism, art and design. Resulting from the merger of NAi Publishers and 010 Publishers as of July 2012, nai010 publishers is the largest internationally orientated Dutch publisher in the fields of architecture, art, photography and design.

We develop our books on our own initiative or in association with leading architects, artists and museums. We work on a regular basis with the Netherlands Architecture Institute, the Stedelijk Museum Amsterdam, the technical universities of Delft and Eindhoven, the Dutch Design Awards, the Nederland Fotomuseum and partners such as architecture offices and cultural organisations. We regularly work on co-productions with international publishers. We distribute worldwide.

origin

NAi Publishers
NAi Publishers was founded more than a decade ago as the exhibition department of the Netherlands Architecture Institute, but soon established a distinctive and independent profile. With the publication of over 800 titles since the early 1990s, NAi Publishers, under the leadership of director Eelco van Welie and his predecessor Simon Franke, has established an internationally prominent position in the fields of architecture, art, photography and design. This includes bestsellers such as the Architecture in the Netherlands yearbook, of which the 25th edition has been published in 2012, Atelier van Lieshout and Inside Outside, Petra Blaisse. The books of NAi Publishers have also received numerous awards, including the lion’s share of the 2012 competition for the Best Dutch Book Designs of 2011.

010 Publishers
In 30 years under the leadership of founders Hans Oldewarris and Peter de Winter, 010 Publishers has produced more than 700 titles in the field of architecture and design, including such classics as Herman Hertzberger’s Lessons for Students in Architecture, published in 12 languages, Rem Koolhaas’s S,M,L,XL and MVRDV’s FARMAX. Of all Dutch publishing houses, 010 has had the most books selected as Best Dutch Book Designs: 67 in total. 010 has also won many international awards, including three gold medals in Leipzig for Best World Book Design and an International Red Dot Grand Prix for the Metropolitan World Atlas.
