Schiphol Airport, the Anne Frank House, the Malie Tower - these are all acclaimed works by Benthem Crouwel Architects. Public buildings at crucial, landmark locations where many people come together. BC AD offers a refreshing new look at the substantial body of work and illuminates the firm's way of working; from the border crossings and the Almere experimental house in the early period to the stations for the high-speed railway line and North-South metro line and the extension to the Stedelijk Museum in Amsterdam. Included are not only built works but also submissions for often high-profile competitions and various studies, many of them previously unpublished. Drawings, sketches, photographs, scale models - all articulate the architects' enthusiasm for resolving complicated issues.
